FleishmanHillard Fishburn holds roundtable with the International Trade Secretary Dr Liam Fox

This morning FleishmanHillard Fishburn was delighted to host a private roundtable with the International Trade Secretary, Dr Liam Fox.

With over 30 participants, Dr Fox began his remarks by outlining his Department’s remit in the coming years.

He stated his Department was responsible for promoting and supporting opportunities for export and investment, delivering the best international trading framework for the UK, and building an appetite for British goods and services.

He outlined his commitment to working closely with business in the months and years ahead to ensure the Government is as informed as it possibly can be as it begins scoping trade negotiations. Describing himself as “not just a defender” but a “champion of free trade” he highlighted his desire for greater liberalisation in global trading.

We are very grateful to the Secretary of State for his comments and openness during the discussions. If you were not at the meeting and would like to discuss the current political landscape please get in touch with the FHF Public Affairs team.
